Who's the cutest girl around?

I am a mom of a cutie pie (very biased). And I wanted to share my experiences with others (including my cuties grandparents, great-grandparents, numerous uncles and other relatives). I love being a mom and can't imagine doing anything else.

Day +62

We have decided, after much thought, discussion and prayer, to proceed with the T-cell infusion. It starts at 3 today...so any minute now. She will get infusions 2 days a week for 4 weeks. Please pray that there are NO side affects and that it clears up the GVHD as soon as possible.

She is a sad little girl right now. She had gained almost a pound in the last 2 days. She is breathing differently because her stomach is big again. She doesn't want to do much besides sit on her bed or ride in her car. It's been a long couple of days. Pray hard for Livi. She needs it so much.

My favorite quote from today's talk with the doctor (read with much sarcasm) was when asked if he was thinking of a discharge date he said NO. We're going to be here a few more weeks I guess.

I will pray that you will have peace with your decision and that this time in the hospital will go quickly and when you ask the doctor again he will say YES there is a discharge date.

I pray that the infusions go well, the GVHD is gone for good and that Livi will "get her smile back."

Our great Savior who saved us from the pit of hell, forgave sinners, who redeemed us and gave us a great inheritance, who calmed the storms, and healed the sick is the same Savior that can heal Livi.

emily, james, and alivia,

i am praying for you all!

when i was in the hospital last year (not nearly to the extent you are all enduring, with grace, i might add), i came upon this spurgeon quote that encouraged me greatly. i am praying for you, and can't wait to meet alivia.

Remember, there is never a thoughtless action on God's part. His mind goes with His hand. His heart is in His action. He thinks so much of His people that "the very hairs of your head are all numbered" (Luke 12:7). He thinks not only of the great things, but also of the little things that are incidental to the great things, such as the number of hairs on your head.

Every affliction is timed and measured. Every comfort is sent with a loving thoughtfulness that makes it precious. The Divine Mind exercises great thoughtfulness toward the Lord's chosen. Nothing happens a result of a remorseless fate. All your circumstances are ordered in wisdom by a living, thoughtful, and loving God.

Our heavenly Father knows what He is doing. Even when His way appears to be involved and complicated and we cannot untangle the threads, the Lord sees all things clearly. His breadth exceeds the range of our vision; His depth baffles our profoundest thought. "Your way was in the sea, Your path in the great waters, and Your footsteps were not known" (Ps. 77:19).

When we are overwhelmed with wonder, we are humbled by the reminder, "Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways, and how small a whisper we hear of Him!" (Job 26:14).

Just wanted you to know that believers in Colorado are also interceding on Livi's behalf. I am praying Ephesians 3:17-20 for all of you, that God will surround you and strengthen you and give you His peace and joy and that know the love of God in new and amazing ways!

A little guy in our church went through a pretty rough time with leukemia two years ago. He's doing really well now. Maybe it would be comforting to check out his website. It's www.jeremiahroberts.com

I have been following your story ever since I signed up to be a bone marrow donor at Livi's drive. I will definitely pray for you. As a nursing student whom did my oncology rotatioon at Hershey last fall I know all too well about GVHD. I pray that she has a quick recovery and does not suffer from the agonizing pain and itchiness that it causes. I pray that this new treatment works safely and effectively.

Thanks again for keeping us up to date with specific prayer needs. I am praying that the GVHD disappears and never comes back, but Livi's smile does.
Again, what a comfort it is for Livi knowing you are a constant love by her side.
Please be encouraged that you are an amazing Mom and are the best mom Livi could ever have.

Thank you for being an example to me in so many ways & for loving Livi sooo much! I am glad that she has a mom like you. May God bless you today as you are in the middle of this journey---& I pray that he would give you every ounce of strength that you need. Love you lots!

Emily,
My heart is going out to you this Mother's Day as you spend another day caring for your precious girl. I know these experiences bring us to a place of mothering that we never would have chosen; one of brokeness, one of desperate prayer. I also know the faithful God's hands that we place their ultimate care into and I know He is faithful. Please know you and James and your family are in our prayers. We pray for amazing grace to be poured out upon you all. You are loved, lisa gallo

Hi Neighbor,

Happy Mother’s Day, Emily!

Yes, it’s your hospital neighbor (7263). The loud and rowdy group from across the hall (Michael, Tonya and Carrie, the horse lover). Emily, you and your family are being lifted much and often in our prayers. I think of you and Alivia often and hoping that all is well.

For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them. Matthew 18-20

“Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13: 5

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

We will see you soon, give the baby a big hug and kiss for us! Love you much, Hang in!

Hey girl,

Is everything o.k. (you know what I mean) We haven't heard from anyone in a few days and, of course, we get concerned. We know you have a million things going on, and that posting isn't on the top of your list, but we miss your words!

Praying, praying praying. Especially that the bone marrow would become as her very own and that all traces of the GVSD would disappear.

We love you all. We love Livi.
