Who's the cutest girl around?

I am a mom of a cutie pie (very biased). And I wanted to share my experiences with others (including my cuties grandparents, great-grandparents, numerous uncles and other relatives). I love being a mom and can't imagine doing anything else.

I'm tired

Last night was so so long. She was sleeping peacefully but kept dropping her oxygen level below 90% (not good...they want it above 92) so all the alarms would go off and nurses would come running from everywhere. We sure put our nurse Katie through the wringer last night. She did it all with a smile and kind words. i didn't realize how good we have it nurse wise until we spent time in the intermediate unit....believe me we have it REALLY good. I am so greatful for that blessing. She had another chest x-ray this morning and is still throwing up a bit. She just cant' figure out spitting yet so everything she coughs up she swallows and it makes her sick or gaggy and she ends up throwing up and since its been more than 24 hours since she's eaten anything she just throws up stomach acids and mucus..a pretty horrible combo if you ask me.

You would think after all that last night she would be a mess...but no. She is still sweet little Livi, coorporating with the nurses, directing Grandpa where and who to kiss (stuffed animals, me, her) and in general being a super sweetie. What a huge blessing.

Bill and Cynthia are goign to come spend the day. Dad is going to the Bookers to take a nap (only place quiet enough for him). I'm so glad they live nearby. I will nap whenever and where ever I can. I haven't cried much over the last few days...mainly just getting done what needs done. But this morning I really really miss my husband and my mom. I got teary eyed just thinking about it. Maybe its because we can't see each other that makes it extra hard. So James and Gigi...get better quick we miss you like crazy.

continue to pray for clear lungs, stable oxygen levels, slower breathing and healing for mom and james so they can come see us.

Glad to hear that Livi is still doing those cute little things(telling grandpa who to kiss)to keep your spirits up-it's amazing what their little smiles can do for an exhausted parent, isn't it? You all are constantly in my thoughts and I still praying---

We are praying Emily for a peace of mind and REST & for your hubby and mom to get well right now!! Your little girl is so strong and such a fighter! I am so happy that she is in good spirits! What a great GOD we serve! I can only say that God is the one to keep her joyful after all that she has gone thru! I can't imagine what each second is like for you, but I do know that Jesus is carrying you every step of the way with His shoulder there to lean and cry on! I know He is good at wiping my tears and making me feel better in trials. Your daughter has touched so many lives and to think of all the nurses and doctors that have been blessed by each of you with your strong faith! God LOVES you so much Emily and James and Little Livi. What better place to give your burdens to!!! We think of you and pray for a lot! Tirzah & I pray for you all and baby Livi at night & at each meal we have to help her get better & not be sick anymore! ;) It's so sweet to watch how children are so honest and have such faith! Thank you for keeping us updated on the blogspot!!
Here are some encouraging verses that came to mind.
"For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear, I will help you (EMILY)." ~Isaiah 41:13
"God is our reguge & strength, an ever present help in trouble." ~Psalm 46:1
"Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you Emily; He will never let the righteous fall." ~Psalm 55:22
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." ~Matthew 11:28

Dear Lord we pray for Emily today that you would give her rest, peace and strength! Lord you know each thought she has and each tear she cries for her little girl to be healed and spared from discomfort and pain! Thank you Lord that Bill & Cynthia were able to take the day to help care for thier daughter and grandaughter today. Please fill Alivia with overwhelming Joy & Peace today as she is poked and proded by nurses and doctors. Give wisdom to each nurse and doctor who cares for her Lord and help them to see Jesus in her mommies eyes! May your Holy Spirit fill the room that they are in tody and let your light shine in their hearts! We also pray God that you would heal a quick and speedy recovery for James & Gigi so that they can come and be with Emily today and if not that you would give Emily patience until they do come. Help Emily not to feel lonely for she has so many family memebers, friends and even strangers praying for her each day! God is so eveident how the Haughery's are so LOVED! we pray that they would feel encouraged and blessed during this time! Oh God PLEASE heal Alivia in your very perfect way! In Jesus Name Amen.

God bless you Emily,
Hannah, Scott, Tirzah & Naomi Byers

Praying! For rest, for health, for sanity, for James & your mom, for dear little Alivia. Giving thanks as well for your parents & Bill & Cynthia. You are so fortunate to have such incredible family and such an awesome church body (both here and in Indiana) that is loving you and supporting you through this time. It must seem difficult, but count your blessings in the midst of this rough time.

I have more toys...lots more toys. I'll take them to James and he can see that they get to the hospital.

Love you!
Julie

Emily

I am praying that God will multiply the hours of your sleep so that you are fully rested. He will give you the strength you need for each day. I am also praying that He will make your steps very clear as you make decisions about Livi's treatment in the future. My church here in Nebraska is praying for you all!

Emily, James and Alivia,

I don't blog much, but I wanted to pass along our love and support. Each of my three older children tell me that they and their classes at school are praying for y'all regularly. And Livi gets mentioned in every family prayer.

I received a miracle about 4 pm and started feeling better. Beware, I plan to be there tomorrow. You are in the best hands with Dad, though. Miss you like crazy, too. At least I am close by and miserable, instead of in Indiana and miserable. Spent the entire day reading and praying. God is not a liar, His word is true, and we need to cast all our cares (and they are many) on Him, and continue to wait. Does it make sense?, little ones having to suffer? No, but He is doing something nonetheless. God bless you all tonight.
