Who's the cutest girl around?

I am a mom of a cutie pie (very biased). And I wanted to share my experiences with others (including my cuties grandparents, great-grandparents, numerous uncles and other relatives). I love being a mom and can't imagine doing anything else.

Day +91

Livi was pretty crabby and out of sorts today. I started to be concerned because she felt warm to me. Usually her temp is anywhere from 96.5-98 (98.6 is normal) for her regular temps so if she even hits 98.6 she feels warm. So they took her temp and it was right around 99.5. Not something that they would usually react but I brought up the fact that for her that was actually a pretty good fever since she usually runs rather low. So they drew blood cultures and around 9 we found out they came back positive. She has another gram negative cocci infection in her blood. They are not sure of the specific infection yet but have already started her on antibiotics. She is still running a fever and just not feeling great. Pray that this infection was caught early and that she doesn't get worse. Pray she quickly responds to the meds and is on the mend once again. Poor sweet girl has been through more than enough.

Congrats to Matt, Viv, Nicholas and Hannah on the birth of Constance two days ago! Another Haughery baby girl.

I am praying for Livi, too. Will be up tomorrow...hopeful that the antibiotic fights this for her. You are so tuned in to her needs and body, Emily. You notice changes that others would overlook. I think that you did catch this as quickly as it could have been caught.

Can't wait to see sweetie sticker girl!

Poor little Livi and her mom Emily, you are so worn out. We keep praying to go home soon...!
In the meantime, it is soooooo hard to see Livi when she is feeling poorly. We all suffer when she is...and truly she doesn't "complain". She is just off her game. So glad to be able to be here to help. Mom

I am glad you caught it early! It is so great the way you know her signs and are able to detect a problem before the doctors do.

Decided to make an afternoon check of the blog and glad I did. Oh, Emily, how very discerning you are of Livi's every need. God has put that in your heart for the very best of reasons. The medical people can't catch everything, obviously. You are on top of the signs of trouble and not afraid to point out possible problems. Livi could'nt have a better caretaker. You are the best !!! Praying for this new need and all the others. The Amish family continue in my prayers. So good that you can touch them with any bit of comfort. Love to all there as always from Marmie

What a great Mommy to be so aware of her raised temperature. God has blessed you with being an observant and vigilant Mommy! May you get to come home soon with a little girl more herself.
Praying for Livi, Jackson, and the Amish family.
I wish you could hear Gabe pray for Livi. "Pweeze heal Baby Livi Lord (which sounds like Ward)because she's sick." AMEN

Excellent call Emily. I'll bet you have grown immensely in being Livi's advocate and sensing her needs. I am certain you always have been amazing but are now even less concerned about being vocal for her needs. Thank you God for this great mercy and kindness.
Go Livi Go - Praying for all
