Who's the cutest girl around?

I am a mom of a cutie pie (very biased). And I wanted to share my experiences with others (including my cuties grandparents, great-grandparents, numerous uncles and other relatives). I love being a mom and can't imagine doing anything else.

Day +34

Livi's tests for GVHD all came back negative.
Her stool tests also came back negative for any viruses, bacterial infections or parasites.

We have to switch one very important med to oral (and get the levels perfect) and then we will be discharged early next week to the apartment here in Hershey. Pray that she can keep the medicine (which smells like skunk and has to be oral not through the NG tube) down and that the levels are easy to regulate.

Yum--skunk medicine! Oh, poor Livi. Just you mentioning the skunk smell brings up that terrible odor, as if there is a skunk right here.

So, do you feel good that you will soon be out of that room, even if you can't go straight to you house? Whenever I drive by your place I think it is looking so great! It will be such a special treat in so many ways when you do get to go home.

I'm glad to hear it was all good news today. We are always praying! Hope you can get some sleep tonight.

Much love,
Julie

No GVHD - yahoo! And all the other tests negative, as you hoped for! Yes! Praying the new meds go smoothly, skunk smell and all. (You'd like to think it could be possible to mask that somehow, wouldn't you??) I am excited for you to be leaving the hospital soon. Praying for happy, healthy, peaceful times ahead! God bless, and thank you for updating us.

Hi Emily,

I am so happy to hear that the results were good and there is no GVHD. This is an answer to prayer.

I like the smell of skunk so hopefully Livi has this same weird trait as me and as joe.karen said it will taste like cake to Livi.

I love reading all the comments and feel like I am meeting all your family and friends each day as I read your blog.

I loved all the great pictures yesterday. I am so happy to see Livi smiling. What a strong little person she is!

Glad to hear that results were all negative. Praise God! I can't imagine having to take all those meds, especially if they smell or taste bad. I have a hard time swallowing my daily vitamin! Thanks for keeping this blog up to date. I like praying for Livi's and your specific needs. ~Beth Chase

Yippeeee!
As I marched around my house this morning feeling totally overwhelmed and unsure how these next couple of very busy week-ends were going to go, I am AGAIN reminded of appreciating and seeing the simple yet bigger blessings and that he is in control. Thanks. Skunk - of all smells, even possum sounds a little better.
Hope you have a GREAT day. Praying for total healing.
Love,
Diana B.

YYYeeessss! That is very encouraging. Another slash in the "prayers answered" column.

We shall expect many more slashes in that column. The faith builds with each answered prayer.

I pray the bowels stiffen up and come around less frequently.

I'm sure it seems like an eternity to you, but it's hard to believe that you're at "+34" days. You've done such a magnificent at keeping us right up to date, which we need so much.

I'm praising Him today that the tests came back negative! And I'm incredulous that you guys are even talking about discharge. I'm sure that you're so, so ready--- and yet it must be scary, at the same time. I'll be praying for all the help you're going to be needing, and you can help us by letting us know about every single thing you need.

we love you, your beautiful baby and your incredible family.

What good news that you will soon be home! Your dad looks so happy with his little drummer girl and she has managed to get cuter each day despite all she's been through. Emily, there are many out here who check on you although we may not often say so. Thank you for having the strength to share your experience.
