Day +12
Alivia seems to be suffering from a side affect we call "bad-teethy-osis". Thankfully it is easily cured by removing said bad plastic teeth from ones mouth. But doesn't she look way to cute?!
Our day started with some news. Alivia's WBC's are up to 1.4! This is what we are waiting for but it is really early for actual engraftment. So we are cautiously optimistic. We will have to wait and see what the counts to come bring. The one doc said it could have been an error in the lab, or it could be engraftment. I want to be excited but am also nervous because a high, fast rising WBC count has always been our problem. Pray that this is engraftment and that it means the transplant is working. Even if it is engraftment it will be a while before we are out of here. She is still not at a point where her immuse system is strong enough to protect her. I definetly wasn't expecting WBC's this early on (any thoughts Kristine?)
Thanks for today to...
Tom Kurtz for stopping by on the way to your retreat. It was so nice for my dad to have a friend visit and thanks for donating blood for Alivia. And for the candy (I grew up on Garner's and love their chocolate filled with peanut butter. i used to save up to get it when I was little...50 cents is a lot when you are little. You got everyone something special cause my dad likes chocolate and raisons, my mom likes chocolate and carmel, cynthia likes dark chocolate and james likes candy.)

Pray for more growth of the new bone marrow, no eosinophils (the kind of white blood cell we had to many of before). Pray that the GVHD will stay away. That she will not have any fevers or infections and that things will continue to go smoothly and we will be one of those families that "breezes through" transplant.

I don't know if I should be laughing, smiling, or crying tears of joy! What a precious daughter you have!!! I love reading your upates on how to pray for Livi!!! You have a beautiful and precious daughter! Thank you so much for sharing your lives with us!!! Lots of love! I pray that she will continue to feel better and that it starts to engraft quickly!!!!
So thankful for Livi and her second birthday! The pictures are so cute. She is adorable. Praying that the counts are good ones! :) Love you all, Janet
I never saw anybody who lost their hair look so GREAT!! What a doll Alivia is!!
We are aksing the Lord to bless those white blood cells and make her well.
Ya'll (a southern something we picked up) are really doing a fantastic job. We are so proud of your fortitude.
I was reading your blog,I had much to catch up on, I am so "thankful" you keep us updated and we are able to pray specifically for your baby girl! I read your blog from the other day when all you wanted was a "normal day". You are so right, we take normal days for granted, and I appreciate your being "real" and just helping others to see what a day outside of the hospital looks like to you. May the Lord continue to lavish on you His unending love, kindness, grace, mercy, and ability to see His hand in all that you are walking through!! This is indeed a tough road, but God has ordained this from beginning to end! I am anxious to see how he will amaze you with the outcome.
In Him,
Lori Freeman
You scared me! My first thought when I saw the picture with the teeth was "Oh no!!!"
We pray specifically for everything you ask for, Emily. Thank you for the details. It helps us to "shoot" our prayers more accurately and that, personally, just helps me to pray better.
Please let us know what you need us to pray for- for you and James as well (obviously, in addition to all the requests for Livi) Be as specific as you want. Nothing is too small or big for Him or us to pray for. Everything about you and your life and our Livi is important to all of us out here.
We love you,
kristi
Emily,
I love how you are making her room so cheery and fun for Livi. Happy Birthday, Livi.

Continuing to pray that our Lord will do far beyond all we can think, ask or imagine.
the teeth gave me a start! I thought that maybe there was a full moon.
Emily,
We are praying for you today! I wanted to share this with you that came to mind as I was praying for you... You show through your situation with Livi's illness that joy is much stronger than happiness!! Happiness may flee in the face of turmoil, but your joy always remains constant & sure, day after day at Hershey & month after month as your family has been faced with Livi's cancer! It amazes me and helps me to also hold on to Joy when I am faced with struggles & challenges. Although normally I would get frustrated when I find the girls getting into a huge mess like yesterday having play-doh stomped through my ENTIRE 3 FLOORS of my house or when the girls got into my lipstick & painted themselves from head to toe along with my bedspread or when my oldest uses a WHOLE roll of toilet paper after every potty trip! ;) SILLY GIRLS! Instead of getting upset I just laugh & smile & thank God for giving me two funny girls who have spunk & fun with adventures! :) Thank you for being a great example of true JOY NO MATTER WHAT!
I also wanted to share with you a website I found with the painting of Jesus on a blackboard! It is incredible & I thought you & your family would love to see you & I know it would encourage you. If go to this webpage:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M4_IlbaZHA
you can play the video clip. It's about 9 minutes long so when you get a few minutes to spare you can sit down & watch it. Tirzah loved watching it so maybe Livi would like to watch it too!!
I hope today was a good day! We are praying.
Love in Christ,
Hannah Byers
All of your pictures are wonderful. I was especially touched by the angel picture as Alivia really looks like a little cherub. Thanks for sharing all that you do to keep us updated on Livi's progress.
As I go to your blog repeatly each day until I read your next entry.....I wait with anticipation and hope that Livi is getting better. I want so desperately to know that our prayers are being answered and that your precious Livi is going to be healed. I find myself thinking, "Come on Emily.....where's today's blog? I want to know what has happened with your precious little angel. I feel somewhat impatient as I await that next entry. But as I think about my own frustration about not knowing how your day went and what the next day will bring, I can't even imagine how you must feel each day day as you watch your precious little LIvi and you wait on the Lord to show you what is in the future for Alivia. Yet, you have such a positive outlook on the situation. You remain faithful and trust in God in all things. This is so evident in the way you live your life and what you write in your blog.
I pray that God will continue to reveal signs of healing in Alivia and that He will also bless you with a peace that surpasses all understanding as you wait with great expectaion of how God will bless you and Alivia each day.
Praying.......
C Curry
