Who's the cutest girl around?

I am a mom of a cutie pie (very biased). And I wanted to share my experiences with others (including my cuties grandparents, great-grandparents, numerous uncles and other relatives). I love being a mom and can't imagine doing anything else.

Day +36

All weekend we have been excitedly preparing to be discharged on Monday. We are able to get into Home of their Own (the condo here in Hershey) and Mom has been furiously cleaning every inch (thanks Bleach Queen). Then this morning we talked to our doc and he said that we wont' be going home tomorrow after all. Alivia "stooled" 8 times yesterday and a few of them were big. So we will be here contiueing to observe her. We are currently on all oral meds but we may be switching some back to IV. Also they will be sending all of her biopsies from the endoscope to a special lab in Seattle that does all transplants and has much more specialized equipment. They will test to see if their were any small indications of GVHD that the labs missed here. So we are not out of the woods. And if the stooling continues then we may have another endoscope later this week. We want to catch it early if it is GVHD. Please pray that the stooling (which is what I will be calling it cause poop just isn't a serious enough word anymore) slows down and that she truely doesn't have GVHD. Pray that she starts to eat more (still only a few chips, pretzels, crackers or peices of cereal a day). Pray that she isn't sick to her stomach anymore. Pray we get to go home sometime this week.

Still praying, Emily - and special kudos to your mom for taking the cleaning detail. Praying for the stooling to reduce to some kind of normal and for all the lab results to come back negative. Praying for improved appetite and no nausea -- and for that much-longed-for trip home very soon. Hang on! God bless you and yours-
Cathy S.

Emily,

Thankful as always for your updates. Praying for eating to get better and for stooling to return to normal pooping. Praying that it has nothing to do with GVHD and is simply just cause of lack of solid food and all of her medications. Praying that her body learns how to process it all if that is what it is. Praying that the promise of home comes back and that Alivia shows improvement everyday.

Most of all praying for healing...complete and total healing.

Emily-

You & James are such an example to all of us. Many of us will only ever face small degrees of what you are going through with Alivia.I am excited to see what the Lord is doing through you guys and your families and as I read your daily updates I am fascinated by how you are so very aware of all of your daughter's reactions/interactions with things. It reminds me of how initimately aqcuainted with our struggles the Lord is. I am so grateful that your family is part of our church and that we get the privilege of being used by God to care for you. Thanks for taking time out of your many sleepless hours to keep us updated so we know how to pray. Please know that I am carrying you on my heart and to the throne.

Ok, God surprised us with this one. Especially, since the doc just said yesterday he would get the paper work "rolling" to get Livi. But, better here than being sent home only to come back in a few days. So God is watching for us...it was hard...gigi

Oh Emily, I'm sure that was such a disappointment to you all, but Gigi's right. Better to stay than to have to return (sorry I'm sure that doesn't make you feel better). Thank you for continuing to post!! I will continue to pray daily for her and for you, James and your family!
Hugs,

How disappointing! I am so sorry that it will be longer than you were led to believe. One of my favorite lines in Scripture is this ... And it came to pass... So, I am praying that ALL of this will come to pass ... Peace to you in the Lord Jesus Christ, Janet S.

Emily,
I've used the phrase "church time" cos church seems to run late at times. Now, it seems that there is also "hospital time" which means, I guess, when it happens, it happens.
(sigh)
Like the other bloggers, if wishes could take you home, you would have been wisked away already!
Praying for a FRESH touch from the Lord today and praying for everything you posted.

Emily - thanks for the updates - still praying - praying for peace that surpasses all understanding & comprehension to guard your hearts and minds in our Lord Jesus Christ - praying for trust in His plan, His timing, and His knowledge of Alivia's body - praying for all the details and praying for your home and God's protection of it

I am praying that the stooling stops - or slows down to where it should be. I am so sorry for the temporary setback, but am prayerful that it is just temporary - a mere hiccup in the process. I pray, and believe, that Alivia will soon be out of the hospital, getting better and better and stronger and stronger, with each passing day. GOD BLESS YOU!
