Who's the cutest girl around?

I am a mom of a cutie pie (very biased). And I wanted to share my experiences with others (including my cuties grandparents, great-grandparents, numerous uncles and other relatives). I love being a mom and can't imagine doing anything else.

One of those days

I decided to take a few days off from blogging. First of all I decided to see what it would feel like to not talk about Alivia being sick for a few days. It was nice but not reality and I realized how much I get out of the comments that everyone makes. Also we were very busy this weekend and spend all day Sunday either outside or with friends. It was a good weekend. (might be an understatement..we had a blast but those memories are to good to write)

My other reason for taking a few days off was an overwhelming feeling of vulnerability. I realized after talking to people just how many people are reading this. Writing this is a great way for me to get my thoughts out but I realized that it is really easy just to pour out my heart and not think about how many people might read this. Sort of a startling revelation for me. I thought that everyone who was reading had posted a comment and now I realize thats not true. So I am asking that if you are reading this and have never before posted that you would do me the favor of just this once writing your name, where you are from and how you know about Alivia. It only takes a second, you don't have to sign up or anything just click comment and annonymous and say who you are. Thanks a ton.

Alivia is getting tooth. Poor kid. She is going through it right now. She is sleeping a little better. She woke up with a rash this morning (one of the signs the doc told me to look for) so I called and talked to a nurse and she said (after I described it) that it was probably from the medicine. Alivia has gotten rashes before that look like this one. So hopefully that is all it is. Also, the Doc didn't feel like we needed to come in earlier than Thursday....unless a fever starts.

Thanks for today and the last few days...
Cards for the nurses from Nicholas Haughery (Alivia's cousin), The Millen Family, Lisa Allen (my aunt), Dr. and Mrs. Victor Lan, Kelly Tonkin, Sherry Vislosky and Lou Ann Miller (the great people who my mom works with) and Maryann Plesnicher.
Card for Alivia from Andy and Ann Carroll, Kelly Tonkin and The Moore's
And a bag of goodies from Aunt Lisa (she ate the paper airplane as soon as it came out of the bag and did the sign for please as soon as she saw the new signing video. We've watched it a bunch of times already. She sees the case and starts pointing at the TV. Obviously she loves it.)

Emily, thank you for what you wrote on your blog today. I understand what you are trying to say. As usual, I misunderstand first, are all mothers and daughters like that? Even before you called this AM re: THE RASH, my devotions included PS 86.6 and I wrote it down and took it to work and wrote it on my blotter. I needed that fresh encouragement...and God is SO GOOD to give it to us. Will see and hug you for real tomorrow around 7 PM. Can't wait. Love, Gigi and Pap-Pap-PAp-pap!

Hi Emily,
I learned about Alivia's condition in a small group meeting at our church, Grace United Methodist, in Indiana. I have been home from teaching for 3 weeks due to recent surgery, so I have been checking out your blog each day to keep up on Alivia's progress and pray for your family.
I marvel at how well you are dealing with this situation and trusting in the Lord. It is also exciting to see how he continues to answer prayers and bless your family in the midst of adversity. Keep trusitng in the Lord for answers. There are a lot of people out there praying for you.
God Bless your entire family especially your little sweetheart!

Emily-
i read this this morining and thought about you, james, your parents and his his parents as you continue to walk by faith day by day through this situation with Alivia as you wait.
you have not been ashamed of Jesus, but continue to look to Him for grace and strength. each day as you walk is not new or a surprise to God, but has been established by our Creator.

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord, nor of me his prisoner, but share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God, who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began. . . 1 tim 1:8-9

see you tonight- praying for you -

Emily, I have been reading your blog ever since you started it because I love keeping up with Alivia. I forwarded your blog site to all the Haughery and White cousins in Alabama and Georgia: Read/Theresa Haughery (Auburn) Matt/Manjit (Montgomery, AL), Mike/Beth (B'ham), Margo/Chuck (Atlanta) Mark Haughery(B'ham)and Barbara and Dick White (Auburn), Sybil Haughery (Opelika) Maribeth Farr (Auburn), Kevin/JosephineWhite (Florida), Eric and Stephany White (Atlanta). Our first cousin (mine and Bill's) Peggy Rudiselle who lives in Calif. has a daughter, Sarah who had leukemia as a baby; she is probably a teenager now and she's fine. Their name is Marzulli. I also visited one of your friend's blog Karen Hevesy and read all her entries because they are so delightfully humorous. Thanks for all your time and words for those of us who are far away, we are greatful.
Love, Marcy

Your mom always makes me laugh and your dad is one cool dude. (He really helped Justin out when he was trying to get a teaching job here). Those who wait on the LORD shall have their strength renewed...keep looking up...He cares for you. My soul shall declare that God is good. He alone is our salvation and our refuge.
